Quotes from Collider Advocates

This quote is from a self-proclaimed physicist working for CERN, posted on June 10, 2008 (emphasis added):

There is absolutely nothing on hold waiting for the LSAG report, we are moving ahead with all aspects of the accelerator and experiments. It’s not quite safe to assume there will be no collisions this year, but it’s certainly within the realm of possibility. I hope we do have collisions this year, we have a lot of things to understand about our detectors and the accelerator chain.

I found this quote interesting.  It is from a very active LHC advocate in response to someone bringing religion into the discussion.  Posted on May 16, 2008:

This is a rational debate… Religion has no place here… these people get under my skin.

I agree entirely, religion has absolutely no place in this discussion.

  2. Keith Says:

Yeah, God doesn’t have a mathematical and/or scientific approximate chance of ‘popping up’ from particles crashing into each other at light speed.

If you are a priest, pray the world won’t end.
If you are a physicist, double check your math.

God has no right to be a subject in this controversy, for he has nothing to do with the word ’scientific’. The LHC is the real deal, it physically exists and the results are unpredictable. Theories are theories and they are nothing people should trust 100%. Don’t think some misinterpreted book with a cross on it be your guideline to something this serious. Even the scientific theories aren’t reliable because too many people accuse each other of not telling the whole truth, or giving false information, or accepting money from interviewers to say what they want to hear.

So whether it be the results of the LHC or the black history book, the truth is out there. However, the facts are lost and here we are again in another controversy with everyone thinking of themselves as the only one who is right. At least the scientists, physicists, technicians, etc. are looking at numbers and solid facts. They may not know the end result, but at least they know what method to use to find the answer. Unlike hypocritical priests and their ignorant minds, thinking God is the answer to everything.

Let LHC run its course, we’ll see what happens. We’ll see if God emits from it, or if the world comes to an end as those with pH.D’s claim.

My idea on what will happen: I have no idea. Who am I to say what will happen? Than again, who is anyone to say what WILL happen? Unless you are Nostradamus, shut up and watch. End of discussion.

Wow Keith. You are really out there!

    Be well.
