To the last point the case against nanotechnology seems pretty unconvincing at this point perhaps exactly like a case against a huge particle accelerator may have seemed unconvincing twenty years ago.

Politicians if promised a new weapon or must have technology will always approve and now the lawsuit is dismissed the judicial cleanup will come after any mess providing it is survivable.

The nanotechnology research that the CERN facility is at proposal stage and so perhaps a complaint about the potential of the research should be lodged. That is in the spirit of the twenty year pre-submission of protest.

Now given that teenage males are at the leading destructive edge of public damage a nano nude bomb aka Max Smart is soon to be a real possibility and a time line of twenty years gets a couple of mentions.

Scientists need to consider the impacts of science far more now than just pursuing science. Is humanity ready for what is coming in the same way a television or Teflon in cooking is a scientific advance?

Scientists in cloistered isolated labs away from the public will need to consider what the science does and who will use and abuse it above just producing new applications. Just looking at the internet content and usage patterns is a clear indicator that humanity is not anywhere near ready for that sort of responsibility.

There must be more to all science than “LOOK a new discovery … give me a prize”.

The geological record gives clear evidence that what is currently happening is a recurring process and well within the normal natural cycle. Our lack of faith and inability to humbly admit that we have no idea what the real nature of the universe is or how it works means ego, human ego, faulty human ego must be satisfied at what ever cost.

On all the observations the indications really are that this is the end anyway based on the current thinking. Current thinking that quite probably is terribly wrong is the only possible justification for an experiment like the Large Hadron Collider. Of the 10 to 150 oders of magnitude possibilities who could really think that the right option has been chosen.

The evidence is that what is coming is a natural and logical and cyclical happening and this generation, this generation will be known for all time as the generation that lost faith.

If the experiment being practiced by the physics community does not work then the same cautious voices will be criticized for not telling everyone who will now consider that they if told personally would have known. There is no reward for being an altruistic voice if it works and worse if it causes damage.

I say physicists practicing physics just as a doctor practices medicine. The difference is that patients die even when a doctor follows all the codes of the Hippocratic Oath and tries to ensure to do no harm. This is hard on the doctor but it happens. There is no Hippocratic Oath in the science of particle physics and the patient in question is the planet earth.

I do not intend to use this forum to promote an alternate science but I do intend to say that a lot of potentially valid alternatives have not been explored as yet. The evidence is that particle science is a mathematics construct and not a logical explanation in the classical sense. The science does not make sense and that is acknowledged by scientists to keep anyone who is not a particle physicist from having an opinion on the subject. Knowledge is power just as denial of access to knowledge is power.

If there is a window of opportunity for escape from the planet the investment in space exploration should be essential. There may be a window of reduced gravity before a collapse because even the science of gravitational attraction within a planet is not an exact science. It is ironic that if the world is destroyed then the same persons who are instrumental in the process would be needed to build the life pods to lift a small section of humanity off planet to continue the species. Ironic because just as a doctor mourns the death of a patient the particle scientists would most likely be in the life pods and hopefully they would properly mourn their involvement in the destruction of the world.

I say window because a micro black hole is so very small even if it is a violent gravitational unknown. At a size smaller than a dime a micro black hole may reduce gravity for some time before a collapse which could be a last hope for humanity. Again it is an unknown but if and I say if it comes about I sincerely hope there will be a realization that urgent and rapid action is required and anybody who demands an empirical proof to dispute is dealt with with utmost swiftness and finality.
